More than obvious, art and painting have become an emergency for Mounia Amor. After conventional studies in pharmacy in France, she chose to devote herself to her family. In 1995, after the birth of her last son, she began to paint slowly, taking the first step: buying canvases, brushes and easels. This perfectionist is unconvinced by her first attempts, and decides to follow an academic training at the studio of the painter Ahmed Mourabiti.
She is particularly gifted and has an extraordinary sensitivity.
And it is in the privacy of her own workshop in Casablanca that Mounia Amor drafts her first creations. The result is commensurate with the artist’s talent, and those close to him are not fooled by encouraging him to reveal his works to the general public and art lovers. The first exhibition took place in 2000 in Essaouira.
Success is there. The quest for perfection guides the steps of the artist who explores with determination and happiness different pictorial paths. Conquered by impressionism and its spring colors, Mounia Amor pushes her artistic wanderings even further and invites cubic forms into her paintings. Harmony remains the dominant factor in a work inhabited by a constantly renewed creative process. Throughout the exhibitions, her artistic identity comes to life and her art takes shape.
