So Art Gallery had the pleasure of hosting artist Ange Dakouo for a residency in Casablanca during the months of July and August 2024. During this time, the artist explored and deepened his unique approach to the "woven gris-gris," a technique he has been developing since 2018, integrating strong symbolic and aesthetic elements from West Africa.
This residency allowed Ange Dakouo to produce a series of original and fascinating works, which will be showcased in an upcoming exhibition at the gallery. These new creations continue the artist's exploration of memory, human interactions, and spirituality, inspired by traditional protective amulets.
Known for his versatile work, blending painting, sculpture, and installations, Ange Dakouo has captivated audiences at previous international exhibitions. We are delighted to invite you to discover the fruits of this residency very soon at So Art Gallery.
